The Department of Chemistry was established in the year 1999.

Over the years is has grown in such a way that it is able to introduce new groups Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics combinations, Chemistry with Botany & Industry Chemistry (UGC Vocational Course) at under graduate level, Chemistry with Botany and Bio – Technology and post graduation level with two specializations in Organic Chemistry & Analytical Chemistry and also established another four laboratories.

The Department has initiated to start UGC Innovative programme M.Sc., Human Nutrition and Nutraceutical Chemistry under the UGC Scheme ‘Innovative Programme under teaching and learning in interdisciplinary and emerging areas.
